Every Animals Matter® bed is hand-crafted in California to be washed, refreshed, and loved for years. When a cover finally shows its age—or you'd simply like a new color in the rotation—we can craft a replacement cover specifically for your bed.
Replacement covers are available exclusively for beds purchased directly from animalsmatter.com, and every order begins with a conversation. Here's why, and how it works.
Why we fit every replacement cover personally
A replacement cover only works if it fits exactly — the silhouette, the size, and the fill of your specific bed. Two things make that impossible to self-serve:
- Covers are bed-specific. A Katie Puff® Ortho Rectangle cover will not fit a Puff, a Square, or a Lounger. Each cover is cut for one silhouette in one size.
- Our patterns have evolved. Over 24 years of hand-crafting, fabrics and patterns have changed. To say yes with confidence, we verify exactly which bed you purchased — so the cover that arrives fits the first time.
This is also why we ask that your bed was purchased directly from us: your original order is the record we use to guarantee the fit.
How it works
- Reach out. Email info@animalsmatter.com with the bed you'd like a new cover for — or use our contact page. If you have your order number or purchase email handy, include it; if not, don't worry.
- We find your order together. Can't locate your order? We'll gladly help — your name, email address, or even an approximate purchase date is usually enough for us to find it. The one requirement: the bed must have been purchased directly from animalsmatter.com, so we can be completely certain of the fit.
- We verify and confirm. We'll look up your exact bed — silhouette, size, and original fabric — and confirm what's available, including current color options.
- We invoice, you relax. Once confirmed, we create your invoice directly. Your new cover is made to match your bed precisely.
Waterproof covers: check your bed's page
Some beds offer an optional waterproof cover (like the Katie Puff® Ortho Rectangle Waterproof Cover). These are also bed-specific and non-transferable. The rule is simple: if a waterproof cover appears as an option on your bed's product page, it's available for that bed — at the time of purchase or later. If it isn't shown, contact us, and we'll confirm what's possible for your bed.
Protecting any bed in the meantime
While covers are bed-specific, a Luxura-Protect™ waterproof dog blanket fits every bed — a machine-washable layer of protection you can move from bed to sofa to car.

We'll help you find it — your name, the email you purchased with, or an approximate purchase date is usually all we need. The only firm requirement is that the bed was purchased directly from animalsmatter.com.
I bought my Animals Matter bed from another retailer. Can I get a cover?
Replacement covers require a verified animalsmatter.com purchase. If you bought elsewhere, contact us anyway — we'll tell you honestly what's possible for your bed.
Do covers from one bed style fit another?
No. Each cover is cut for a single silhouette and size — a Katie Puff® Ortho Rectangle cover won't fit a Puff, Square, or Lounger.
Can a blanket work as a bed cover?
As protection, yes. A Luxura-Protect™ waterproof blanket isn't fitted, but it shields any bed (or sofa, or car seat) from moisture and fur, and it machine-washes easily. Many customers keep one on the bed between washes.
How long does a replacement cover take?
Timing depends on the fabric and your bed's specifics — we'll confirm when we verify your order. Each cover is hand-crafted and typically in stock and ready to ship from our manufacturing facility in Palm Springs, California.
