Waterproof Dog Blankets
Waterproof Dog Blankets
For the sofa you chose with care, and the dog who claimed it first.
A waterproof dog blanket is a soft throw with a waterproof barrier inside it. At Animals Matter®, that barrier is Luxura-Protect™, sealed between two soft outer faces, so spills, drool, damp paws, and occasional accidents are kept from the couch, bed, or car seat beneath. Three styles, sized from a single car seat to a king bed, and every one machine washes cold.
What makes a dog blanket waterproof?
A sealed barrier inside it, not the fabric on the outside. A dog blanket is waterproof when a continuous, non-porous layer sits between its two faces, so moisture that lands on top is kept from reaching the surface below. On our blankets that layer is the Luxura-Protect™ barrier. Because it sits inside rather than on the back, the blanket stays soft on both faces and drapes like a throw. On the Cozy Raine Waterproof Blanket™ the barrier is breathable, so the blanket stays comfortable to lie on rather than trapping heat.
WHERE IT GOES
Where does a waterproof dog blanket work best?
Anywhere your dog rests on something you would rather keep dry. Choose the size by the surface you want to cover, not only by the dog.
On the Couch
Lay it over the cushions your dog has claimed. The Roxy™ or Ruby Puff® Large suits a sofa cushion; the Cozy Raine XX-Large covers a two-cushion couch and the XXX-Large a three-cushion couch.
On the Bed
Across the foot of the bed or over the duvet. The Roxy™ and Ruby Puff® X-Large are sized for a shared bed; the Cozy Raine XX-Large covers a queen and the XXX-Large a king.
In the Car
A Medium fits a single car seat. After a wet or sandy ride, the blanket lifts out and goes straight into the wash. Over a dog bed, the Large adds a washable layer above the bed's own cover.
THREE STYLES
Which waterproof dog blanket should I choose?
All three carry the Luxura-Protect™ barrier. They differ in coverage, fabric, and feel.
The Cozy Raine Waterproof Blanket™ is the coverage piece: five sizes from Medium to XXX-Large, which covers a three-cushion couch or a king bed. Plush, luxe faces over a breathable barrier, in Ivory, Ebony, Latte, Light Gray, and Charcoal.
The Roxy™ Waterproof Luxury Dog Blanket is faux fur on both sides and fully reversible, in Beach Sand and Winter, from Medium to X-Large. Its faux fur is the same one used on the Roxy Ortho Puff® beds.
The Ruby Puff® Waterproof Luxury Dog Blanket pairs dense, tightly woven Ruby Puff® faux fur with the barrier, which gives it a substantial, naturally weighty feel. Light Gray, from Medium to X-Large, and it coordinates with the Ruby Collection of dog beds.
FIND YOUR FIT
What size waterproof dog blanket do I need?
Measure the surface you want to protect and choose the size that covers it. Each blanket has its own size chart, so the same size name is not the same size across styles.
Roxy™: Medium 29 x 36 inches, Large 36 x 56 inches, X-Large 56 x 60 inches.
Cozy Raine: Medium 30 x 36 inches, Large 36 x 62 inches, X-Large 56 x 62 inches, XX-Large 62 x 80 inches for a two-cushion couch or queen bed, and XXX-Large 62 x 100 inches for a three-cushion couch or king bed.
Ruby Puff® Waterproof: Medium 29 x 36 inches, Large 36 x 58 inches, X-Large 56 x 58 inches.
Between two sizes, choose the larger one for a fuller drape.
CRAFTED WITH PURPOSE
What is a waterproof dog blanket made of at Animals Matter?
Two soft outer faces with the Luxura-Protect™ waterproof barrier sealed between them. The Roxy™ and Ruby Puff® styles are faux fur on both faces; the Cozy Raine pairs plush, luxe faces with a breathable barrier. There is no bead or pellet fill in any of them. Our fabrics are sourced from mills that carry the OEKO-TEX® certification. Each blanket is finished, inspected, and shipped from Palm Springs, California.
Soft on top and protected beneath, it lets your dog stay exactly where they want to be.
Waterproof Dog Blanket Questions, Answered
How the barrier works, which style and size to choose, and how to care for it, answered plainly.
A waterproof dog blanket is a soft throw with a waterproof layer inside it, so moisture on top is kept from soaking through to the sofa, bed, or car seat beneath. Each Animals Matter waterproof blanket seals a Luxura-Protect™ barrier between two soft outer faces, so it looks and feels like a throw rather than a pad.
The Luxura-Protect™ barrier is sealed between the blanket's two faces, not on its surface. Spills, drool, damp paws, and occasional accidents land on soft fabric, and the barrier helps keep that moisture from passing through to the surface below. Because the barrier is inside, there is no slick or plastic-feeling backing.
No. Water resistant describes a fabric that sheds a spill for a short time. Waterproof describes a sealed barrier made to keep liquid from passing through. Our blankets are waterproof because of the Luxura-Protect™ barrier inside them, not because of the outer fabric.
Choose by the job. The Cozy Raine Waterproof Blanket™ covers the most ground, up to a three-cushion couch or a king bed. The Roxy™ Waterproof Luxury Dog Blanket is faux fur on both sides and fully reversible. The Ruby Puff® Waterproof has a substantial, naturally weighty feel from its dense faux fur and the barrier together.
Measure the surface you want to cover, not only your dog. A Medium suits a chair or a car seat. The Roxy™ and Ruby Puff® Large suit a sofa cushion or a dog bed, and their X-Large a shared bed. For a two-cushion couch or queen bed choose the Cozy Raine XX-Large, and for a three-cushion couch or king bed the XXX-Large.
Yes, it is one of the most common uses. Lay it over the cushions where your dog rests, or over the whole couch with the larger sizes: the Cozy Raine XX-Large is sized for a two-cushion couch and the XXX-Large for a three-cushion couch. Because both faces are soft, it reads as a throw on the sofa.
Yes. A Medium fits a single car seat, and the larger sizes cover more of a back seat. The blanket lifts out after a wet or sandy ride and goes straight into the wash. It protects the upholstery; it is not a restraint or a safety device.
Machine wash the whole blanket in cold water and hang dry it. Use no dryer on any setting, no bleach, and no bleach alternatives, which protects both the soft faces and the waterproof barrier. Let it dry fully before it goes back on the sofa or bed.
It helps with the cleanup. For a senior dog with occasional accidents or a puppy in training, the blanket takes the moisture instead of the cushion, sofa, or mattress, and it washes far more easily than a bed cover. It manages accidents; it does not treat incontinence, which is a question for your veterinarian.
