Animals Matter® products cost more than mass-market alternatives because each piece is artfully hand crafted in California using proprietary support systems, CertiPUR-US® certified foam components, and upholstery-grade fabrics, with construction designed to maintain comfort, support, and beauty for years rather than months. The price reflects the materials, craftsmanship and longevity built into every piece.

What Goes Into Every Piece

Much of our cutting, sewing, filling, and finishing is completed in our own Palm Springs manufacturing facility: not outsourced production, but craftspeople finishing each piece with meticulous attention to detail. Our proprietary foams, fiber fills, and spa essentials are made in California.

Proprietary comfort engineering

The Companion-Pedic® support system delivers orthopedic cushioning that relieves joint pressure and maintains alignment without flattening. LUXURA-FILL® comfort layers hold their loft, structure, and enveloping softness over time. Luxura-Protect™ adds a discreet, integrated waterproof barrier on select styles: protection without compromising comfort or breathability.

Materials selected, not settled for

Textiles are sourced from globally respected mills that meet OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 requirements. Foam components are CertiPUR-US® certified. Components are selected in alignment with California Proposition 65 standards, and our textile partners confirm PFAS are not intentionally used in their production processes. Our outdoor pieces use Outdura® performance fabric: 100% solution-dyed acrylic woven in Hudson, North Carolina, at a mill whose textile heritage dates to the early 1900s. Each piece is then cut, sewn, and finished by hand in our Palm Springs facility. What to Look for in a Bed Designed to Last

Whether a dog bed lasts comes down to five things you can check before you buy: how the fill holds its density under weight, whether the cover comes off and can be replaced, how the piece is constructed, what the materials actually are, and whether those materials carry certifications you can verify. Here is what each one means, and how our pieces answer it.

What to look for

  • Fill density and support. Lower-density foam and loose fill flatten with use, and a bed that has flattened no longer supports the joints it was bought for. Ask what the support system is, not only how soft the bed feels in the first week.
  • A cover that comes off. A washable, replaceable cover is what lets a bed be refreshed instead of replaced.
  • Upholstery-grade construction. Furniture-weight fabric wears differently from lightweight pet-market textiles, and it is the difference you notice in year three.
  • Named materials. A specific foam or fiber you can look up tells you more than a general claim of quality does.
  • Certifications you can check. A third-party certification is verifiable. An unnamed material is not.
